ams OSRAM Extends CEO Aldo Kamper's Contract Through 2031

The Supervisory Board of ams-OSRAM AG has approved a new contract for Chief Executive Officer Aldo Kamper, extending his tenure through September 30, 2031, effective October 1, 2026. Kamper's previous term was set to expire on March 31, 2027. He has served as CEO since April 2023.

Dr. Margarete Haase, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board, said in a statement that Kamper has "strategically realigned ams OSRAM and laid the foundation for sustainable growth." Under his leadership, the company achieved key milestones including the successful implementation of the 'Re-establish the Base' efficiency program, strengthening of the financial base, and clear positioning in the digital photonics field. The board's decision reaffirms its "full confidence" in Kamper.

Kamper expressed pride in what the team has accomplished and looks forward to continuing the path as a focused technology company. He highlighted the establishment of a basis for the next growth phase in digital photonics.

Kamper began his career at OSRAM in 1994 and held various leadership roles in Europe and the United States. He pioneered microLED technology and dynamic front-end lighting. In 2018, he joined Leoni AG as CEO before returning to ams OSRAM in 2023. Shortly after taking office, he launched the 'Re-establish the Base' program to focus the portfolio and strengthen profitability. Under his leadership, the company streamlined structures, assigned clear responsibilities, and took measures to reduce debt. The sale of the non-optical sensing business was completed on July 1, 2026, establishing a sound financial foundation for profitable growth in optical core business and future areas like augmented reality and data communication.

The extension of Kamper's contract underscores the board's endorsement of his strategic direction. The company, a global leader in light and sensor solutions, aims to leverage its digital photonics expertise to capitalize on megatrends such as smart mobility, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality. With around 18,500 employees and over 12,000 patents, ams OSRAM reported EUR 3.3 billion in revenues in 2025. More information is available at ams-osram.com.
