ARC Clean Technology Closes Series B Funding to Advance Small Modular Nuclear Reactor Deployment

ARC Clean Technology, a developer of advanced small modular reactors (aSMRs), announced the successful closing of its Series B financing round on December 16, 2025. The round attracted a diverse group of investors from energy, infrastructure, and technology sectors, including Xplor Ventures, Hennessy Capital Group, Cleantech Ventures, Core Synergy, and Banpu Ventures. The funding will accelerate commercialization programs for the ARC-100, a 100 MWe advanced sodium-cooled fast reactor.

The proceeds will support ARC's work with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) under the Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program, its collaboration with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) for global aSMR fleet deployment, and continued project development in Canada with strategic partner Hatch. Amar Jolly, Managing Director, Power at Hatch, noted, "Hatch has been working closely with ARC since 2022, and we are pleased to see the significant progress... Its high-temperature, zero-emission design is ideally suited to power hyperscale data centers and heavy industry."

As part of this next phase, James Wolf has been appointed CEO, while Bob Braun will continue to lead ARC's Canadian operations. Wolf stated, "This investment reflects strong confidence in ARC's progress and the capability of the ARC-100 to deliver reliable, clean heat and power for energy-intensive industries and next-generation data centers. The financing enables us to accelerate our deployment with our partners in the United States, Canada, and internationally."

ARC's simple reactor design, based on proven sodium-cooled fast reactor technology, has generated interest from multiple jurisdictions and project developers seeking reliable clean energy for AI data centers and industrial applications. In the U.S., ARC is a grant awardee of the DOE's Advanced Reactor Demonstration Program. In Canada, the company has been working with New Brunswick Power on a commercial demonstration at the Point Lepreau site. In 2023, New Brunswick Power submitted a License to Prepare Site application to the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC), and in 2025, ARC completed Phase 2 of the CNSC's Vendor Design Review, making it the only advanced reactor technology in Canada to achieve both milestones. Additionally, ARC formed NuARC with Calgary-based Nucleon Energy to develop the ARC-100 in Alberta, with site evaluation underway.

The ARC-100's modular design provides 100 megawatts of carbon-free power for electricity, industrial applications, and AI data centers. ARC Clean Technology has offices in Washington, DC and New Brunswick, Canada.
