The Atlanta Community Food Bank, a central organization in the fight against hunger in metro Atlanta and north Georgia, has named new members to its Governing and Advisory Boards. These appointments, effective July 1, 2026, are part of the nonprofit's efforts to make food assistance more convenient, consistent, frequent, and equitable across its service area, where over 900,000 people are projected to be food insecure.

The Food Bank has added four new Governing Board members for Fiscal Year 2027, each serving three-year terms. They include Danielle Fallin, Dean of the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University; Marshall Guest, Chief Strategy Officer at the Metro Atlanta Chamber; Noel Baber, VP & CFO at Kaiser Permanente Georgia; and Vonetta Daniels, Founder & Principal at VYD and Associates. These individuals bring a wealth of experience in public health, business strategy, finance, and consulting, which will be invaluable in guiding the organization's strategic direction.
In addition, the Advisory Board has elected Christine Connor as Vice Chair. Connor is the Managing Partner and Founder at Switch Consulting Group. She is joined by two new Advisory Board members: Jay Ritchie, President & CEO at Tokio Marine HCC, and Kevin Autie, Senior Manager at Gas South. The Advisory Board provides counsel and support to the Food Bank, leveraging the expertise of community leaders to further its mission.
The announcement comes at a critical time, as food insecurity remains a pressing issue in the region. The Food Bank's work is more important than ever, and the new board members will play a key role in helping the organization expand its reach and impact. The Atlanta Community Food Bank works with over 700 community-based nonprofit partners across 29 counties to provide healthy food to thousands of families, children, and seniors each year. In 2023, the organization distributed its one billionth meal, a significant milestone in its ongoing efforts.
The new board members' diverse backgrounds and leadership skills are expected to strengthen the Food Bank's ability to address the root causes of hunger and develop innovative solutions. Their commitment to service and community engagement aligns with the organization's goal of ensuring that all hungry people across metro Atlanta and north Georgia have access to the nutritious meals they need.
