Bestselling author Elizabeth Graham has issued a stark warning about the state of American democracy in her new book, 'From Democracy To Democrazy: A Warning To All Americans.' Graham, who spent nearly twenty years living and working in Russia, Central Asia, and Ukraine, argues that the United States has fallen under the control of a traitor—Donald Trump—who she claims is controlled by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
In a recent Substack post, Graham wrote, 'Saturday, July 4th and the U.S. holiday to celebrate our independence will be remembered as a time when one of the greatest countries in the history of mankind has succumbed to the tyranny and despotism of one man and a small group who holds absolute and unrestricted power and who is controlled by our enemy.' She draws on historical parallels, quoting Roman statesman Cicero, who said, 'A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within.'
Graham asserts that many Americans continue to doubt Trump's allegiance to Russia, but she compares this denial to Mark Twain's proverb: 'It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It is what you know for sure that just ain't so.' She alleges that Trump's criminal record—including 34 felony counts, business fraud, and a sexual assault conviction—proves his unfitness for office, and that he is 'well on his way to be our first dictator.'
According to Graham, Russia's disinformation campaign has successfully manipulated Trump, who she claims was compromised during a trip to Moscow in search of a hotel site. She cites an interview with former KGB operative Oleg Kalugin, as reported by Craig Unger in 'American Kompromat,' to support this claim. She also points to Trump's policy actions—such as removing U.S. troops from Germany, closing USAID, and undermining NATO—as evidence that he is following Putin's agenda.
Graham's experience includes working on USAID projects in Russia and Ukraine, which she describes as a source of intelligence for the CIA. She claims that Putin stole millions from USAID programs to fund the Russian FSB and plot against the U.S. She also warns that the closure of USAID could lead to 22 million preventable deaths in Africa by 2030, a figure she attributes to reports from The Lancet and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Graham's book, 'From Democracy To Democrazy,' has received praise from readers and reviewers. Kirkus Professional Book Reviewers called it an 'intriguing and informative must read' from a woman 'who is probably the best-informed American on the terrifying realities concerning Vladimir Putin's motivations and his control over Trump.'
Graham continues to write on her Substack, where she offers daily or weekly messages drawing on her decades of experience. Her book is available on Amazon, and more information can be found on her website at democrazy2020.org.
