These solutions are designed to optimize picking tasks through interchangeable components, addressing the increasing reliance on order picker trucks in modern warehouses.
The new product line includes four series: Modular Order Picker Carts, Modular Order Picker Platforms, Order Picker Furniture Carts, and Order Picker Furniture Platforms. The carts are equipped with heavy-duty casters, enabling them to serve as pushcarts for ground-level inventory management, while the platforms omit casters to function solely as attachments. The furniture-specific variants are sized to fit the longer forks of furniture order picker trucks.
According to Trent Boothe, Technical Sales Manager at BHS, the goal is to make order picker trucks safer, more productive, and adaptable to various tasks. "With the growth in narrow-aisle racking, more warehouses are relying on order picker trucks," Boothe said. A key feature of these attachments is their custom sizing, which eliminates gaps or offsets between the platform and the truck's operator deck. This design reduces tripping hazards, a common safety risk associated with order picker truck attachments. The modularity allows users to adjust shelf spacing, remove shelves, or add rails and guarding to create an ideal work platform. All components are bolt-on and can be easily modified with standard tools.
The modular design provides the benefits of custom equipment without extended lead times. "We specialize in designing custom equipment, but it takes time to design something from scratch," Boothe explained. "Our modular solutions ship a lot faster than an all-original product. They give you custom performance without custom lead times."
