Boerne Celebrates American Craft Beer Week with 5th Annual Bock Walk

Boerne, Texas, will celebrate American Craft Beer Week from May 11-17, culminating in the 5th Annual Bock Walk on May 16-17. The event showcases the city's six independent craft breweries, each offering a signature Maibock—a traditional German-style lager known for its smooth malt character and springtime appeal. Participating breweries include 28 Songs Brewhouse + Kitchen, Hamby's, Tusculum Brewing Co., Cibolo Creek Brewing Co., Free Roam Brewing Co., and The Dodging Duck Brewhaus.

The Bock Walk is more than a tasting event; it reflects the collaborative spirit defining Boerne's craft beer culture. Tori Bellos, marketing specialist for Visit Boerne, emphasized the breweries' role in the community. “Each brewery brings its own personality and passion to Boerne. Together, they create a welcoming destination that both visitors and locals are proud to be part of,” Bellos said. Attendees can purchase a limited-edition t-shirt featuring all six breweries, available for pre-order online. A portion of proceeds from each shirt will benefit Paidion Shield, a veteran-run nonprofit focused on child safety training and preparedness.

The event also encourages exploration of Boerne's Hill Country Mile, a downtown area with shops, restaurants, and galleries. Visit Boerne provides ready-made itineraries and accommodation suggestions to help visitors plan their stay. As Boerne's craft beer scene grows, events like the Bock Walk strengthen the city's reputation as a destination for quality, creativity, and community engagement.
