CAHEC Welcomes Corine Sheridan to Board of Directors, Bringing Over 40 Years of Affordable Housing Expertise

RALEIGH, NC – CAHEC has announced the appointment of Corine Sheridan to its Board of Directors, effective January 1, 2026. Sheridan brings more than four decades of experience in affordable housing finance and investment, a move that is expected to further bolster the organization's leadership as it advances its mission of building stronger communities through affordable housing and supportive services.

Sheridan retired in late 2024 following a distinguished career dedicated to expanding access to affordable housing nationwide. Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President and Head of Acquisitions at Berkadia from 2021 to 2024, where she led the Tax Credit Syndication team's nationwide origination and acquisition strategy. In this role, she oversaw complex transactions and collaborated with tax credit investors across the country to support the development and preservation of affordable housing communities.

Prior to Berkadia, Sheridan spent nearly two decades at Boston Capital as Director of Originations from 2003 to 2021. She was responsible for developing and executing the firm's targeted nationwide origination strategy, expanding its impact while supporting developers and partners committed to affordable housing. Her leadership directed capital to communities with critical housing needs across the United States. In 2024, she co-founded Sheridan Consulting, a firm that provides financial and organizational expertise to nonprofits, housing authorities, and other affordable housing practitioners.

Sheridan's commitment extends to nonprofit leadership. She serves on the boards of the Light House Shelter in Annapolis, Maryland, the Anne Arundel County Affordable Housing Coalition, and the Real Estate Committee of True Ground (formerly the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing) in Arlington, Virginia. Her board service underscores her dedication to addressing housing instability and supporting organizations that serve vulnerable populations.

Dana Boole, President & CEO of CAHEC, stated, "Corine is a passionate advocate for affordable housing. Her keen understanding of market dynamics, earned respect among peers, and deep-rooted relationships - let alone her dynamic personality - allow her the opportunity to make a strong impact on what is already a highly engaged CAHEC Board." CAHEC is a community development organization that strengthens communities by providing affordable housing and supportive service initiatives in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. The organization engages in diverse product areas, including low-income housing tax credits, historic tax credits, new markets tax credits, and renewable energy credits. Additionally, CAHEC offers loan programs, wellness and education initiatives for residents, affordable housing development, and property management services.
