Canada Nickel Secures Federal Approval for Crawford Nickel Project, a Milestone for Canadian Mining

Canada Nickel Company Inc. has received a positive Decision Statement from the Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Nature for its Crawford Nickel Project, marking the first mining approval under Canada's amended Impact Assessment Act since 2019. This milestone, announced by Noble Mineral Exploration Inc. (TSXV: NOB) (OTCQB: NLPXF), highlights the project's potential to contribute approximately $70 billion to Canada's GDP and support around 185,000 person-years of employment.

The Crawford Nickel Project, located in Ontario, was referred to Canada's Major Projects Office and selected as one of the first projects to advance under Ontario's One Project, One Process framework. This streamlined approach aims to reduce duplication and expedite reviews, a key factor in the project's approval.

Noble CEO Vance White expressed congratulations to Canada Nickel, stating: “We congratulate Canada Nickel on their announcement today of having secured Federal Approval for the Crawford Nickel Project. This development confirms the Company’s vision in having transferred the Crawford Nickel Project to the team at Canada Nickel in 2019, and as a company we are proud to see Canada Nickel advance through this milestone. This is an extremely important development. It should also serve as a model for the development of other properties held by East Timmins Nickel Ltd., a company established between Noble and Canada Nickel in which Noble has a 20% interest.”

The approval is significant not only for Canada Nickel but also for Noble, which holds shares in Canada Nickel and a 20% interest in East Timmins Nickel Ltd. Noble's strategic move in 2019 to transfer the Crawford project to Canada Nickel has proven prescient, as the project now serves as a model for future developments.

The Crawford Nickel Project is expected to be a major economic driver, with its substantial GDP contribution and job creation potential. This approval under the amended Impact Assessment Act signals a positive shift for the mining industry in Canada, potentially paving the way for other projects.

Noble Mineral Exploration Inc. continues to hold a diverse portfolio of exploration properties across Canada, including interests in gold, nickel, cobalt, and base metals. The company's holdings span Northern Ontario, Quebec, and Newfoundland, with a focus on generating option and joint venture exploration programs.

The successful approval of the Crawford Nickel Project underscores the importance of efficient regulatory processes in advancing major resource projects. It also highlights the collaborative efforts between federal and provincial governments to streamline project reviews, which could attract further investment in Canada's mining sector.

As the first mining project to receive a Decision Statement under the amended act, the Crawford Nickel Project sets a precedent for future approvals. This development is expected to have lasting implications for Canada's economic growth and its position as a global leader in sustainable mineral production.
