Champ Tours Launches Grand Slam Heritage Tour for Sun City Roseville Travelers

Champ Tours, a California-based group travel company founded by Dan Champ, has announced the Grand Slam Heritage Tour, a new baseball-themed travel experience designed for members of the Sun City Roseville Travel Club. The seven-day tour, scheduled for May 13–19, 2027, will take participants through New York City, Cooperstown, and Boston, combining Major League Baseball games, historic ballpark tours, and visits to iconic cultural destinations. The announcement signals a further expansion of Champ Tours' offerings for active senior travelers, following a successful Broadway-themed trip to New York City organized for the same club.

The itinerary begins in New York City with guided sightseeing and a Yankees game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Yankee Stadium. The group then travels to Cooperstown, home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, where travelers can explore exhibits documenting the sport's history and enjoy an overnight stay at the historic Otesaga Resort Hotel. In Boston, participants will attend a Red Sox game against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Fenway Park, the oldest active Major League ballpark, and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium. Additional Boston activities include a visit to Quincy Market and a Boston Duck Tour.

Upon returning to New York, the group will take an official behind-the-scenes tour of Yankee Stadium, including Monument Park. Optional evening activities include a Broadway performance or a Mets game against the Phillies at Citi Field. The final day offers additional sightseeing before returning to California.

The tour builds on Champ's broader experience in group travel. His involvement in senior travel grew after his father suggested adapting the company's Broadway experiences for older adults, leading to a successful trip for 23 travelers, including three participants aged 86. "One of the things I've learned from organizing group travel is that people have very different interests, regardless of their age," Champ said. "Some travelers love theater, others enjoy history, and some have followed baseball for most of their lives."

Champ founded Champ Tours in 2024 after more than two decades coordinating educational and cultural group travel throughout the United States and internationally. The new tour reflects his belief that themed travel can bring together people who share an interest while introducing them to experiences they might not arrange on their own. "Putting together a trip like this involves much more than securing baseball tickets," Champ noted. "We have to consider transportation between cities, hotel locations, the timing of games and tours, and how much activity makes sense in a single day."

The Grand Slam Heritage Tour includes round-trip air transportation, deluxe motorcoach transfers, hotel accommodations, scheduled sightseeing, baseball experiences, and meals as outlined. Pricing starts at $4,599 per person for double occupancy and $4,999 for single occupancy, with a $300 non-refundable deposit required by December 1, 2026. Final payment is due March 14, 2027. Champ Tours will present the itinerary to club members on October 26, 2026. For more information, visit www.champtours.net.
