CheapSSLWEB, a provider of SSL/TLS and web security solutions, has announced the launch of its next-generation certificate automation suite to help businesses prepare for the upcoming reduction in SSL certificate validity. Following the CA/Browser Forum’s phased timeline, the maximum certificate lifespan will drop from 200 days to 100 days by 2027 and to 47 days by March 2029. This shift necessitates a move away from manual renewal processes to avoid frequent disruptions.
CheapSSLWEB’s automation suite, which includes ACME-compatible certificates, is designed to automate issuance, validation, and renewal, reducing the administrative burden on organizations. The entry-level plans start at $19.99 per year, making automated certificate management accessible to businesses with limited security budgets.
The suite supports the Automated Certificate Management Environment (ACME) protocol, enabling direct connection between servers and Certificate Authorities without manual intervention. It automatically installs certificates and restarts relevant services, handles ongoing Domain Control Validation (DCV) in the background, and supports platforms including cPanel, Linux environments (Nginx/Apache), Windows IIS, and multi-cloud infrastructure. The ACME SSL currently supports Domain Validated (DV), Wildcard, and SAN certificates, and integrates with subscription plans that lock in pricing for extended periods while automation handles reissuance on any validity cycle.
“Whether it's a single site or a thousand sites, managing renewals every 47 days is not feasible,” said CheapSSLWEB’s Head of Product. “We didn't want to push this suite as an 'upsell' for a smaller team to have to acquire, because at $19.99, there's no reason for them to be vulnerable simply because they don't have a security budget.”
The automation products include the RapidSSL Automation Plan at $19.99/yr, Sectigo ACME SSL (CaaS) at $25.00/yr, GeoTrust Automation Plan at $79.99/yr, RapidSSL Wildcard Automation at $139.99/yr, and GeoTrust Wildcard Automation at $289.99/yr. These plans aim to transform certificate management from a periodic headache into a background process, ensuring continuous compliance without manual intervention.
As certificate lifetimes shrink, the risk of expired certificates causing browser warnings or site outages increases dramatically. CheapSSLWEB’s automation suite is designed to eliminate reliance on human memory for renewals, making airtight SSL hygiene achievable for organizations of all sizes.
