Datavault AI Inc. (NASDAQ: DVLT) has announced a strategic initiative to tokenize and monetize the Project Qestrel edge AI infrastructure program, a nationwide network of cybersecure edge data centers being deployed across the United States by Available Infrastructure. The companies expect the Project Qestrel token ($QEST) program to represent more than $1 billion in tokenized value upon full deployment, providing access and usage rights across the edge AI infrastructure network while supporting secondary market trading. Initial token offerings are targeted for the third quarter of 2026.
Project Qestrel is expected to deploy 1,000 cybersecure edge data centers across 100 U.S. cities and more than 30 states as part of an approximately $5 billion buildout. Datavault AI said the initiative expands its existing relationship with Available Infrastructure and will generate revenue through an equal-sharing arrangement, with Datavault AI providing tokenization, clearing, valuation and exchange services using its Information Data Exchange(R) platform and patented tokenization technology. The companies believe the program represents the industry's first large-scale tokenization of a live-deploying nationwide edge AI infrastructure network, creating a new digital asset class tied to AI compute capacity.
This announcement marks a significant milestone in the convergence of artificial intelligence infrastructure and blockchain-based tokenization. By tokenizing access to edge computing resources, Datavault AI is enabling fractional ownership and trading of AI compute capacity, potentially democratizing access to high-performance computing for a broader range of enterprises and developers. The move could also accelerate the deployment of edge AI applications by providing a liquid market for compute resources, addressing a critical bottleneck in the AI ecosystem: the need for low-latency, geographically distributed processing power.
The tokenization of physical infrastructure assets is a growing trend in the digital asset space, as it allows for greater liquidity, transparency, and accessibility. Datavault AI's approach with Project Qestrel could serve as a template for future infrastructure projects seeking to leverage blockchain technology for funding and utilization. The company's role in providing valuation and exchange services positions it as a key intermediary in this emerging market.
