Delivery Hero Strengthens Supervisory Board with Private Equity Veteran John Woyton

Delivery Hero, the world’s leading local delivery platform, has appointed John Woyton to its Supervisory Board, effective September 9, 2026. Woyton brings over two decades of private equity and M&A experience across technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT). He succeeds Scott Ferguson, who stepped down to focus on other commitments, and will assume Ferguson’s seats on the Audit and Strategy Committees. The appointment, announced on September 10, 2026, underscores Delivery Hero’s commitment to leveraging deep financial and technological expertise as it navigates a rapidly evolving delivery and quick commerce landscape.

Woyton’s career spans investment banking, private equity, and technology-focused ventures. He began as an investment banking analyst before joining The Carlyle Group. In 2008, he moved to Advent International, where he spent nearly 12 years as leader of the TMT sector team and Partner, overseeing numerous investments, buyouts, and strategic transactions. From 2021 to 2024, he served as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and Managing Director at H.I.G. Capital. In 2025, he co-founded Covalent Equity Partners, a technology-focused private equity firm supporting businesses in the AI era. A dual US and British national, Woyton’s background aligns with Delivery Hero’s need for strategic guidance in an increasingly competitive and tech-driven market.

Kristin Skogen Lund, Chair of the Supervisory Board, commented: “We're delighted to welcome John Woyton to the Supervisory Board. His extensive experience investing in and supporting technology businesses through periods of transformation will bring valuable perspective to the Board as Delivery Hero enters its next chapter. We also extend our thanks to Scott Ferguson for his valuable contribution over the last two years and wish him all the best.” The emphasis on transformation highlights the challenges and opportunities facing Delivery Hero, which operates in around 65 countries across Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.

Woyton’s appointment is significant because it signals Delivery Hero’s intent to deepen its strategic focus on technology and investment as it pioneers quick commerce—the next generation of e-commerce aiming to deliver groceries and household goods in under an hour, often in 20 to 30 minutes. His experience in AI-era businesses, gained through Covalent Equity Partners, could be crucial as Delivery Hero integrates advanced technologies to optimize logistics, personalization, and operational efficiency. The delivery sector continues to evolve rapidly, with players investing heavily in automation and AI to reduce costs and improve customer experience. Woyton’s insight into TMT investments and M&A could also guide Delivery Hero in potential partnerships, acquisitions, or divestitures.

Woyton himself added: “Few companies have built the global scale and reach that Delivery Hero has achieved in little over a decade. It operates in a sector that continues to evolve rapidly, with significant opportunities ahead. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience across technology, investment and M&A to the Supervisory Board, and working together on what comes next.” His forward-looking stance aligns with Delivery Hero’s ambition to maintain its leadership in local delivery and expand its quick commerce footprint. As the company enters its next chapter, Woyton’s appointment could influence how it balances growth, profitability, and innovation in a highly dynamic market.
