Dr. Patrick Ojo, author of Freedom for Pharmacy, has signed with Creative Management Partners (CMP) and agent Alan Morell to represent his commercial rights across all platforms, the company announced today. The partnership will cover literary works, including a sequel to Freedom for Pharmacy, broadcast and adaptation of the book into a docuseries, speaking engagements, endorsements, advisory roles with online courses, and licensing.
Dr. Ojo, a pharmacist with decades of experience in community, hospital, compounding, and correctional facility settings, wrote Freedom for Pharmacy to address what he describes as big pharma's control of the pharmacy industry. The book aims to help readers navigate the complexities of the U.S. medical sector. According to Ojo, signing with CMP is a huge milestone. "I am very excited to work with CMP on submission of my book, Freedom for Pharmacy, as they navigate the best publisher for my literary works and my career's commercial rights across CMP avenues of monetization," he said.
Alan Morell, CEO of CMP, noted that Ojo is among 248 doctors in the company's Medical Health Wellness Division, part of a portfolio of over 700 clients. Morell called Ojo "truly an American hero" for his work with the New York City Department of Homeless Services while earning his pharmacy degree at Long Island University, College of Pharmacy in Brooklyn, New York, and becoming a U.S. citizen in 1996. "This year is our nation's 250th USA anniversary, and I felt signing Dr. Patrick was not only patriotic, but significant since his book, Freedom for Pharmacy, is groundbreaking reading and a must read for a large majority of an audience who are confused with today's U.S. pharmacies," Morell said.
Morell has over 40 years of global experience managing more than 3,700 campaigns in talent development, literary works, television and film packaging, and commercial rights. Dr. Ojo's background includes a degree in chemistry from the University of Ife in Nigeria, teaching science in Nigerian schools, and migrating to the United States in 1988. He completed pre-pharmacy requirements at New York City Technical College and earned a pharmacy degree from Long Island University, later obtaining a Doctor of Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University in 1999. He has practiced pharmacy in various settings across Florida.
