A standout moment involved an 8-year-old boy who, after taking the Drug-Free Pledge with his older sister, received a Truth About Drugs booklet. Encouraged to use the resource to protect himself, his friends, and his family, he spotted a public service announcement about the dangers of alcohol playing on the booth's television. He asked, "Oh wow! If you do drugs, can you get into an accident like the one in the video?" Upon receiving confirmation and learning that additional educational videos were available online, the boy eagerly requested the website address, stating, "I'm going to watch all the videos."
This interaction illustrates the impact of providing factual information and resources to youth. Drug Free World continues to empower youth and families through educational materials and positive community engagement, aiming to build a safer, drug-free future.
The Foundation for a Drug-Free World, a nonprofit public benefit corporation, provides the secular Truth About Drugs program and materials free of charge. With a network of some 200 chapters worldwide, the foundation has distributed 100 million drug prevention booklets, held tens of thousands of awareness events in about 180 countries, and aired public service announcements on more than 500 television stations.
