Enapter Secures Pilot Order from US Drone Manufacturer for Off-Grid Hydrogen Refueling

Enapter AG, a global greentech company specializing in AEM electrolysers for green hydrogen production, has received a pilot order worth approximately EUR 0.5 million from a US drone manufacturer. The order includes AEM electrolysers from the 4.1 series, with delivery scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026. The hydrogen-producing modules will be integrated into mobile, all-terrain refuelling systems that generate hydrogen on-site from water and solar power, eliminating the need for grid connection and the complex logistics of transporting compressed hydrogen gas cylinders.

This innovation addresses a major obstacle to operating hydrogen-powered drones in remote areas. Unlike battery-electric propulsion, hydrogen propulsion offers significantly longer flight times and rapid refuelling capabilities, making it a superior choice for long-range missions. The pilot project marks a significant step for Enapter, as it opens up a new field of application where the modular design of AEM technology is particularly advantageous.
