Engineer Gold Mines Ltd. (TSX-V: EAU | OTC: EGMLF | WKN: A3EEVJ) has commenced camp rehabilitation at its wholly-owned Engineer Gold Project, located 30 kilometres southwest of Atlin in northwestern British Columbia. Crews, supplies, and equipment have arrived on site to re-establish and rehabilitate the two 20-person camps at the Engineer Mine Project and the TAG Project, which will support the expansion of the company's 2026 exploration programs as announced in its July 28, 2026 news release. Both camps are already in place and fully built but have not been utilized since 2009 (TAG) and 2021 (Engineer).
The decision to rehabilitate existing infrastructure rather than construct new camps represents a significant strategic and financial advantage. Spiro Kletas, President and CEO, emphasized the benefit: “The fact that both camps are already in place, built and paid for, is an enormous advantage for Engineer Gold Mines and our shareholders. This will allow the Company to have full teams at both sites very shortly and will enable the Company to expedite our exploration programs.” This efficient approach reduces upfront capital expenditures and accelerates the timeline to full operational capacity, allowing the company to focus resources on drilling and other exploration activities.
The Engineer Gold Project encompasses approximately 18,319 hectares and is divided into three principal target areas: the historic Engineer Gold Mine, the TAG Property, and the Wann River prospect. The historic Engineer Gold Mine is a past-producing underground gold-silver operation with historical production between 1910 and 1952 totaling approximately 14,263 tonnes grading 39.4 g/t gold and 19.5 g/t silver (BC Minfile 104M014). In 2011, a historical Inferred Mineral Resource was completed (Snowden, 2011, amended and restated in 2018, O’Brien et al, available on SEDAR+), which, based on a 5.0 g/t gold cut-off, estimated 25,000 ounces of gold at a grade of 19 g/t. This historical resource underscores the property's mineral potential, though a current mineral resource estimate would require additional drilling and data review.
The TAG Property, located approximately 6 kilometres north of the Engineer Mine, is associated with a 6-kilometre-long structurally controlled mineralized system related to splays off the Llewellyn Fault. Previous diamond drilling has returned significant intervals, including hole TAG06-23 which assayed 1.7 g/t Au and 5.1 g/t Ag over 26.7 metres (including 3.52 g/t Au over 4.7 metres), and hole TAG08-59 which assayed 1.5 g/t Au and 8.05 g/t Ag over 42.1 metres (Fekete and Simper (2009), Fekete and Skinner (2007), ARIS reports #30931 and #29581). These results highlight the potential for bulk-tonnage mineralization along the structure.
The Wann River prospect, situated 4 kilometres south of the Engineer Mine, represents an orogenic gold target associated with the Llewellyn Fault. Exploration has identified a mineralized corridor approximately 800 metres by 180 metres, with surface samples returning high grades, including a quartz grab sample of 263 g/t gold and 1,350 g/t silver from the Lum showing (Aspinall (2011), ARIS Report #32004). Historic drilling in 2011 returned significant intercepts, such as hole WR030211 with 11.3 g/t Au and 76.2 g/t Ag over 1 metre, and hole WR040111 with 11.3 g/t Au and 94.8 g/t Ag over 1.0 metre (Aspinall, 2011, BC ARIS Report #32478).
The rehabilitation of the camps is a critical step in advancing these high-potential targets. With full teams expected on site shortly, Engineer Gold Mines is poised to accelerate its exploration efforts, aiming to delineate and expand mineral resources across the project.
