Frontieras North America Advances West Virginia FASForm Facility Amid Surging Power Prices

As electricity demand continues to climb, Frontieras North America is moving forward with construction of its first commercial-scale FASForm facility in Mason County, West Virginia. The company’s announcement comes on the heels of a PJM capacity auction that saw prices hit the federally approved cap of $325 per MW-day, with capacity falling 6,831 MW short of PJM’s reliability requirement. PJM, which coordinates the power market across 13 states and Washington, D.C., attributed $6.3 billion of the auction’s $16.4 billion cost to data center demand, underscoring the strain on regional grids.

Frontieras’ FASForm process is designed to fractionate American coal into products including hydrogen, diesel, jet fuel, naphtha, and fertilizer without burning the coal itself. The company’s planned $850 million Mason County facility is already under construction, backed by a $150 million institutional commitment from GEM. This technology could offer a dual benefit: addressing energy security while producing cleaner-burning fuels and industrial products from domestic coal resources.

The company’s inaugural Reg A+ offering previously reached its $25.7 million ceiling, attracting more than 10,000 shareholders. Frontieras has reserved the Nasdaq ticker “FASF” for its planned public listing. Its reopened Reg A+ investment opportunity is scheduled to close Aug. 27, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT, providing a window for investors to participate in the company’s growth story.

The timing of this development is critical. With data centers and other large consumers driving unprecedented electricity demand, the need for reliable, affordable power has never been more pronounced. Frontieras’ FASForm technology could play a pivotal role in meeting that demand while reducing the environmental footprint of coal utilization. The company’s approach aligns with broader efforts to transition toward cleaner energy sources, but it does so by leveraging existing coal resources rather than abandoning them.

For investors, the Reg A+ offering represents an opportunity to back a company that is addressing a fundamental market need. The PJM auction results highlight the urgency of new capacity additions, and Frontieras is positioning itself as a key player in the energy transition. The company’s progress in West Virginia could serve as a template for other regions facing similar challenges.
