Frontieras North America and Western Fuels have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly develop a mine-mouth FASForm(TM) processing facility at the Dry Fork Mine near Gillette, Wyoming. This collaboration aims to leverage Frontieras' patented FASForm(TM) technology to convert coal into valuable products, including ultra-low-sulfur diesel, naphtha, and FASCarbon(TM). The MOU outlines long-term agreements covering a facility site, coal feedstock supply of up to approximately 2.7 million tons annually initially, scaling to 5.4 million tons at full build-out, and Western Fuels' purchase of ultra-low-sulfur diesel produced at the facility. Additionally, Western Fuels Association transportation capabilities may be utilized to move FASForm(TM) product streams.
The proposed facility is a key element of Frontieras North America's strategy to scale its patented technology across Wyoming and the West through mine-mouth facilities and its FASGEN(TM) co-location platform for coal-fired power plants. FASForm(TM) employs a continuous, closed-loop process that converts coal into cleaner products, aligning with the growing demand for sustainable energy solutions. Under the MOU, FASCarbon(TM) produced at the Wyoming facility could be transported to Western Fuels Association member utilities under separate commercial terms or sold into international markets, opening up new revenue streams and market opportunities.
