A recent proof-of-concept study published in JACC: Advances has demonstrated that a risk prediction algorithm incorporating HeartBeam Inc.'s portable ECG device can accurately identify heart attack risk in patients presenting with chest pain. The study, which evaluated 184 patients, highlights the potential of the HeartBeam System to expand its clinical indications to include heart attack detection.

HeartBeam (NASDAQ: BEAT) announced the findings, noting that the algorithm achieved an area under the curve (AUC) of 86.5% using a single HeartBeam ECG reading combined with patient risk factors and symptoms. When a personal, symptom-free baseline ECG was available for comparison, the AUC rose to 92.9%. These results support the company's broader clinical program and suggest that the device could play a key role in early detection of acute coronary syndromes outside traditional medical settings.

The HeartBeam System is a cable-free, credit card-sized device that collects ECG signals in 3D from three non-coplanar directions and synthesizes them into a 12-lead ECG. This platform technology has already received FDA clearance for arrhythmia assessment and 12-lead ECG synthesis software. The company's technology is designed for portable use, enabling physicians to identify cardiac health trends and acute conditions remotely.
