HKTDC’s Seven Lifestyle and Licensing Mega Events to Open Next Week, Showcasing Global Innovation and Sustainability

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has announced that seven annual lifestyle and licensing mega events will open next week, running from April 27 to 30 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) and AsiaWorld-Expo. The events include the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, Home InStyle, Fashion InStyle, Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair, DeLuxe PrintPack Hong Kong, Hong Kong International Licensing Show, and the Asian Licensing Conference.

The exhibitions are expected to attract approximately 5,600 exhibitors from more than 30 countries and regions, including first-time participants from Finland, Germany, Iceland, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan. New pavilions from Chinese provinces such as Xinjiang, Wuhan, Shanxi, Jilin, Huangnan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and Zhejiang will also make their debut, expanding sourcing diversity for global buyers.

Jenny Koo, HKTDC Deputy Executive Director, emphasized the significance of these events in facilitating trade exchanges and reinforcing Hong Kong’s status as a super connector and super value-adder. “This year, the seven mega lifestyle and licensing exhibitions and conference are being held concurrently during the final week of April. Buyers can enjoy a one-stop sourcing experience across all fairs, fostering cross-industry and cross-sectoral exchanges, generating greater synergies, and helping expand customer bases and business opportunities,” she said.

A key highlight is the debut of the Reimagine themed floor at HKCEC Hall 5, which seamlessly connects the Gifts & Premium Fair and Home InStyle. This floor presents a new vision of future lifestyles, featuring zones such as the Selection of ASEAN, The Bespoke Hub, the Hong Kong Smart Design Global Awards, the Cultural and Creative Avenue, and the Gerontech and Innovative Material Pavilion. The Gerontech and Innovative Material Pavilion, funded by the Innovation and Technology Commission, showcases over 20 local exhibitors presenting innovative materials and gerontechnology products for the silver economy, addressing global ageing trends.

Sustainability remains a core focus, with over 820 green exhibitors across the seven fairs and approximately 80 exhibitors showcasing innovative materials. The Printing & Packaging Fair introduces smart packaging solutions, including RFID and anti-counterfeiting technologies, alongside plant-based and bio-based materials. The Green Printing & Packaging Solutions Zone returns to help buyers identify eco-friendly options.

Fashion InStyle features the NEXT@Fashion InStyle zone, with the Philippines as the featured partner this year. Over 60 global exhibitors from Asia and Nordic countries, including Iceland, Finland, and Sweden, will participate. Han Chong, founder and creative director of Self-Portrait, returns as project ambassador, leading six local designer brands to create cross-disciplinary collections exploring cultural heritage, sustainability, and technology. The collections will be unveiled at the NEXT Fashion Parade on April 28.

The Hong Kong International Licensing Show, now in its 23rd edition, brings together over 600 brands and IPs, including Bandai Namco, Doraemon, and LINE FRIENDS. A new “IP and e-Commerce Support Services” Zone debuts to help brands expand into e-commerce markets, aligning with the HKSAR Government’s policy to enhance cross-border e-commerce competitiveness. The Design Licensing and Business (DLAB) Support Scheme will showcase close to 40 local IPs, including Animomo and Emo Neko Club, tapping into the emotional economy trend.

The Asian Licensing Conference, themed “Connecting Creativity, Unlocking Licensing Power,” will feature sessions on global licensing trends, the rise of emotional economy brands like Fugglers, sports licensing strategies, and VTubers redefining digital entertainment. Speakers will provide forward-looking insights for the industry.

The events adopt the EXHIBITION+ hybrid format, integrating AI-driven tools such as Click2Match for business matching, Scan2Match for post-fair connections, and an on-site SmartBot for personalized visit routes. These technologies enhance sourcing efficiency and extend networking opportunities beyond the physical fairs.
