Kaufman & Company, the permanent capital holding company founded and led by Daniel Kaufman, has officially launched its unified platform with the debut of its new website, thekaufmanco.com. This launch marks the culmination of over a year of consolidation efforts, bringing together ten operating companies, a seven-company venture portfolio under Kaufman Ventures, and a network of affiliated partnerships into a single integrated structure covering residential development, workforce housing, AI infrastructure, and venture capital.
The move is significant because it enables the sharing of capital, data, and execution discipline across previously independent entities, potentially enhancing operational efficiencies and accelerating growth in the competitive real estate and technology sectors. According to Daniel Kaufman, “We’ve spent the last year bringing every company we’ve built or backed under one platform so they can share capital, data, and execution discipline instead of operating in silos. This is the structure the work has been building toward.”
The platform’s ten operating companies include Convivium Living, DanReDev, DEK Builds, Design Build Affordable, DK Homes, Forge Development Partners, Kaufman Development, Kaufman Real Estate & Consulting, LoneStar Kaufman, and Kaufman Ventures. Collectively, they report more than $2 billion in project value delivered, over 10,000 housing units developed, and more than 25 years of experience. This breadth of expertise positions the company to tackle diverse real estate challenges, from co-living and affordable housing to AI infrastructure.
Kaufman Ventures, the platform’s venture capital arm, formally introduces its portfolio of seven technology companies, including BridgeStar, Meridian, LandBriefing, SpreadSight, FoundCheck, and ServerDomes. These companies are designed to serve the real estate industry, with a strategy of first building tools that Kaufman & Company’s own operating companies rely on, then offering them to the broader market. This approach could give the company a competitive edge by integrating proprietary technology directly into its operations.
The consolidation process involved integrating financial reporting, shared services, and go-to-market strategies across the companies. The new website also features a public-facing partner portal at BridgeStar.ai, providing borrowers, investors, and partners direct access to deal information. This transparency may enhance trust and streamline collaboration.
While the individual operating companies retain their own teams and market focuses, they now benefit from shared resources and technology. This integration is expected to improve underwriting discipline and project execution across the platform. The launch also confirms an ongoing relationship with Oldivai, an independent workforce housing partner, without it being one of the ten platform companies.
The announcement underscores a trend of real estate firms embracing technology and consolidation to remain competitive. By uniting real estate development with venture capital, Kaufman & Company is positioning itself to leverage technological innovations in its projects, potentially setting a precedent for other firms in the industry.
