LaFleur Minerals Inc. (CSE: LFLR) (OTCQB: LFLRF) (FSE: 3WK0) is continuing to expand its property holdings in the prolific Abitibi Gold Belt of eastern Canada, the largest gold-producing region in the country. The company announced it has added another 701 hectares to its gold project holdings through an agreement to obtain 100% right, title and interest in 27 mineral claims adjacent to its recently acquired McKenzie East Project near Val-d’Or, Québec. This acquisition brings LaFleur’s total acreage within the renowned greenbelt to over 57,083 acres (approximately 23,101 hectares, or 231 square kilometers).
The new property acquisition has a historical gold showing, and the company anticipates an aggressive exploration strategy on the 27 claims, which it reports are “currently active and in good standing to June 12, 2027.” This expansion underscores LaFleur’s commitment to consolidating its position in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, a region known for its significant gold deposits and mining history.
LaFleur’s Beacon Gold Mill is expected to resume production in the coming months after a series of refurbishing upgrades. This development is particularly timely, as gold prices are far above the levels they enjoyed when the mill stopped operations in 2022. The resumption of mill operations will enable LaFleur to enter the market as a near-term gold producer, capitalizing on favorable market conditions.
The company’s strategic land acquisitions and mill refurbishment are part of a broader plan to become a significant player in the gold mining sector. The Abitibi Greenstone Belt has a proven track record of hosting world-class gold deposits, and LaFleur’s expanding land package positions it to benefit from ongoing exploration and development activities in the region.
