As communities across the Texas Hill Country face repeated devastation from flooding, LiftFund has launched the 2026 Texas Hill Country Flood Relief Program to provide critical financial support to small businesses and nonprofits. The program offers grants of up to $10,000 to eligible organizations impacted by the July 2026 floods, aiming to alleviate the hardships caused by the latest storms that have compounded recovery efforts from previous disasters.
Many small businesses were still rebuilding from last year's floods when new storms brought additional damage, disruptions, and financial setbacks. The relief program targets businesses in 16 counties: Bandera, Blanco, Burnet, Comal, Edwards, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Llano, Mason, Medina, Menard, Real, and Uvalde. Applicants must have been operating on or before July 1, 2025, and demonstrate a negative economic impact from the July 2026 floods.
Funding from the program can be used for rebuilding and repair expenses, replacement of lost or damaged equipment, and general business operating expenses. LiftFund President and CEO Amy Hereford emphasized the urgency of the response: "Our hearts are with the Texas small businesses that are facing yet another tragic disaster. When disasters strike, they need trusted partners who can respond in a matter of days to sustain the business and its employees."
Over the past year, LiftFund has deployed 525 grants and loans totaling more than $17 million to Hill Country small businesses. The organization has over three decades of experience helping entrepreneurs recover from disasters, including hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and the COVID-19 pandemic. It has developed purpose-built disaster recovery systems that prioritize speed, accountability, and equitable access to capital.
"Every small business that reopens strengthens its community," Hereford said. "When entrepreneurs can recover, employees return to work, families regain stability, and local economies begin moving forward again." LiftFund is also working with philanthropic organizations, corporate partners, and community leaders to expand available recovery resources, aiming to increase access to affordable financing, grants, and business support services.
