New Report Highlights Major Lithium Investment Projects Across Latin America

A new report titled “Lithium projects Latin America” has been released by Vostock Capital, offering a detailed overview of transformative lithium initiatives across the region. The report, prepared ahead of the 7th International Congress Lithium Latin America, scheduled for June 4–5, 2026, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, highlights key projects that are expected to drive sustainability and growth in the lithium sector.

Among the featured projects is the expansion of the Fénix Project, now part of Arcadium Lithium, with an investment of USD 1.4 billion. The project aims to increase production from 18,000 to 40,000 tons of lithium carbonate annually, pending environmental assessments. Another significant project is the Rio Tinto Rincón Project, valued at approximately USD 2.5 billion, which will produce lithium from salt brines and is part of Argentina’s plan to boost lithium output. The Kachi Project, led by Lake Resources in Catamarca, Argentina, involves a planned investment of USD 1.1 billion and an average annual forecast of 25,500 tons of lithium carbonate equivalent.

The report, which is available for free upon request, compiles data from open sources including media, and Vostock Capital disclaims any responsibility for reliance on the information. The upcoming congress will bring together heads of leading lithium operators from across Latin America to discuss project development in current economic realities. The event is sponsored by companies such as Gorman-Rupp Pumps and Amalgamated Research.

This report and the congress underscore the strategic importance of Latin America in the global lithium supply chain, particularly as demand for lithium-ion batteries and electric vehicles continues to rise. The region holds significant lithium reserves, and these projects are critical for meeting future demand while fostering economic development. The expansion of the Fénix Project and the development of the Rio Tinto Rincón and Kachi projects are expected to create jobs, attract foreign investment, and position Argentina as a key player in the lithium market.

For more information, the full report can be accessed through the provided link, and updates on Vostock Capital are available in the company’s newsroom.
