Powermax Minerals Launches 2026 Exploration at Cameron REE Project, Advancing Critical Mineral Development in British Columbia

Powermax Minerals Inc. (CSE: PMAX) (OTCQB: PWMXF) (FSE: T23) has initiated its 2026 exploration program at its wholly owned Cameron Rare Earth Element (REE) project near Revelstoke, British Columbia, the company announced. The three-week campaign is designed to build on previous geochemical results and refine exploration targets for rare earth elements, which are critical for modern technologies and clean energy systems.

The program includes detailed geological mapping, prospecting, rock, soil and stream sediment sampling, along with targeted ground radiometric surveys. These activities aim to better define previously identified REE anomaly corridors, constrain potential bedrock source areas, and improve understanding of pegmatite-hosted mineralization. The company will integrate geological, geochemical and radiometric data to rank exploration targets and guide future work, including potential trenching and drilling.

“This exploration program represents a systematic approach to advancing the Cameron project,” said a company spokesperson. “By refining our understanding of the geological controls on REE mineralization, we can prioritize targets for more intensive exploration.” The company emphasized that the project remains at an early stage and that geochemical or radiometric anomalies do not necessarily indicate the presence of economically recoverable mineralization.

The Cameron REE Property comprises three mineral claims totaling approximately 2,984 hectares in British Columbia. Powermax also holds options on additional REE projects, including the Atikokan REE Property in northwestern Ontario (455 unpatented mining claims), the Pinard REE Property in northern Ontario (5,178 hectares), and a 100% interest in the Ogden Bear Lodge Project in Crook County, Wyoming.

The announcement comes amid growing global demand for rare earth elements, which are essential for electric vehicle motors, wind turbines, and defense applications. Canada has been positioning itself as a key supplier of critical minerals, with government initiatives supporting exploration and development. According to a press release, Powermax aims to contribute to this supply chain by advancing its Canadian REE assets.
