Q-NEX Launches Smart Lectern SL100 to Streamline Professional Presentation Spaces

As presentation environments become increasingly technology-driven, traditional lecterns are struggling to keep pace. Presenters often juggle multiple displays, content sources, and control systems, while conventional podiums offer little more than a physical workspace. Recognizing this gap, Returnstar Technology has launched the Q-NEX Smart Lectern SL100, an integrated digital podium designed to simplify presentation and AV operation in professional settings.

The SL100 brings together audience communication, content interaction, and system control through a three-screen design. A dedicated 23.8-inch Full HD front-facing display provides a clear space for meeting information, event schedules, and welcome messages. Content can be played locally via USB or updated remotely through a mobile app, eliminating the need for an additional display or playback device.

For presenters, the SL100 integrates a 23.8-inch interactive pen and touch display with a built-in Windows PC. This allows direct access and operation of content from the lectern, supporting Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP)-compatible pens for natural writing and annotation. This setup reduces reliance on external devices and offers a seamless, familiar experience.

AV control is also simplified. The SL100's integrated control panel handles 3×3 matrix switching, device control, presentation timing, and audio adjustment. Crucially, these core local controls operate without an internet connection, making deployment easier in complex network environments and ensuring essential controls remain available during network instability.

For organizations managing multiple presentation spaces, the SL100 extends beyond the room through integration with the Q-NEX Platform. Administrators can remotely manage the lectern and connected devices via a web console or mobile app, offering a practical approach to maintaining technology across various venues.

The SL100 is part of the Q-NEX digital podium series, which also includes the NDP200 and NDP600 for campus environments. The freestanding NDP200 suits larger spaces like auditoriums, while the desktop NDP600 fits classrooms with existing lecterns. The SL100, with its front-facing digital signage and network-independent control, is tailored for formal settings such as executive meeting rooms, professional training spaces, and seminar halls.

By integrating presentation, AV control, interaction, and device management into a unified solution, Q-NEX aims to simplify operations and create more efficient, connected, and future-ready presentation environments. This launch underscores the growing trend toward integrated technology in professional spaces, addressing the need for streamlined operations and enhanced user experiences.
