Renaissance BioScience Corp., a global leader in yeast bioengineering, announced the appointment of Dr. James Tansey to its Board of Directors. Dr. Tansey brings a wealth of experience as a serial entrepreneur, research academic, and business leader, with a focus on life sciences, technology commercialization, and corporate governance. He is a professor at the University of British Columbia's Sauder School of Business and previously served on the faculty at Oxford University's Saïd Business School.
Dr. Tansey is a member of the founding team at Gemina Labs, where he supports fundraising, business development, and shareholder strategy. He also serves on the boards of dynaCERT Inc. and Vanadium Resources Ltd., and is a Senior Advisor to InBC, British Columbia's $500 million strategic investment fund. His appointment is expected to bolster Renaissance's strategic direction as the company continues to develop and commercialize its technology platforms, which include yeast-produced RNA and yeast-derived virus-like particles (VLPs) for applications in crop protection, animal health, and human health.
