SAF-HOLLAND SE, a leading global supplier of trailer and truck components, announced the appointment of Alexandre Charpiot as the new President EMEA, effective September 1, 2026. He succeeds Christoph Gunter, who will pursue a new leadership role outside the company. Charpiot, a veteran with the company since 2009, brings extensive experience in both original equipment and aftermarket businesses to the position.
Christoph Gunter, who led the EMEA region for nearly seven years as President EMEA and a member of the executive team, was instrumental in integrating Haldex into the region and developing new growth opportunities in key markets. Alexander Geis, Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of SAF-HOLLAND SE, expressed gratitude for Gunter's contributions, stating, "Christoph Gunter has successfully led and further developed the EMEA region in recent years. On behalf of the entire management team, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to him for his trust and cooperation."
Alexandre Charpiot's tenure at SAF-HOLLAND includes various leadership roles, such as Vice President Sales OEM EMEA since 2022, where he oversaw sales activities, European subsidiaries, and the integration of Haldex, Tecma, and Assali Stefen. His background in logistics, purchasing, and product management positions him well to continue the region's successful development. The company emphasizes that Charpiot's "extensive experience in the commercial vehicle industry, his long-standing collaboration with international customers, and his strong sales expertise" make him ideally suited for the role.
In his new capacity, Charpiot will align the EMEA region with the strategic goals of the drive2030 strategy. Key priorities include strengthening market position, optimizing operational performance, and pursuing additional growth opportunities across the product portfolio. The appointment underscores SAF-HOLLAND's commitment to sustained leadership and innovation in the commercial vehicle components sector.
SAF-HOLLAND, with approximately 5,600 employees worldwide and sales of around EUR 1.73 billion in 2025, supplies manufacturers across six continents and maintains a strong aftermarket presence.
