SBC Medical Group Leverages OrangeTwist Investment for Global Expansion into U.S. and Beyond

SBC Medical Group Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: SBC), a Japanese operator of aesthetic medical clinics and provider of consulting and management services, is making its first major move into the U.S. market through a strategic investment in OrangeTwist, a U.S.-based medspa chain specializing in non-invasive aesthetic treatments. The partnership, announced late last month, positions SBC to leverage OrangeTwist's 24 locations across six states and its advanced management system, which integrates procurement, clinical workflows, and real-time KPI tracking. This collaboration aligns with SBC's operational expertise and is expected to drive joint operations in both the U.S. and Asia.

The medical aesthetics industry is projected to grow from $34 billion today to $48 billion by 2030, driven by demand for non-surgical treatments such as injectables, fillers, laser treatments, and body contouring. SBC estimates that the aging U.S. population, with 4.1 million people turning 65 each year until 2027, is fueling this demand. By combining resources, SBC and OrangeTwist aim to address "white space" markets—cities with high demand but few competitors—and establish first-mover advantages. Stephen Rodgers, global head of planning and strategy at SBC Medical, told Benzinga that the company plans to find local partnerships aligned with its mission, rather than simply replicating its Japanese model.

Beyond medical aesthetics, SBC is positioning itself in the broader longevity industry, which is shifting from increasing lifespan to boosting "healthspan" through personalized, preventative, and tech-driven solutions. According to Gabelli Research, the global anti-aging market, valued at approximately $85 billion in 2025, is expected to surpass $120 billion by 2030, with North America accounting for about 30% of the market. SBC aims to leverage its infrastructure and expertise to offer services such as AI-powered diagnostics, GLP-1 weight-loss drugs, and regenerative therapies.

While the OrangeTwist investment provides a U.S. foothold, SBC is also expanding in Japan and Southeast Asia. The company's global strategy rests on three tenets: partnering with high-performing regional operators, deploying its expertise to drive efficiencies, and securing first-mover advantages. In Asia, non-invasive cosmetic treatments are in high demand due to preferences for natural-looking results and minimal recovery times. SBC standardizes services to ensure consistent quality and pricing across clinics in Japan, Thailand, and Singapore.
