Licensed barber Seven Nelson proudly announces the opening of SevensCutAbove at the Salon and Spa Galleria Fort Worth Highway in Weatherford, Texas. A graduate of Weatherford College's Barber Program, Nelson has spent two years working in the industry. As the child of a hairstylist, he was raised 'in the shop,' learning by watching his mother do hair. His passion for cutting hair has turned into a full-time career, and Nelson is pleased with his decision to open his own shop.
'I have a lot of passion for what I'm doing,' Nelson said. 'I take my time with each client, to make certain that I execute the image they had in mind, along with providing laidback, chill vibes. It's important to me that every client leaves feeling confident again.' At SevensCutAbove, Nelson offers sharp, detailed cuts, including fades, low drops and tapers, along with hot-lather shaves and beard shape-ups.
Nelson specializes in sensory-safe cuts, ideal for individuals with sensory issues due to special needs or haircut trauma. To adapt to clients' needs, sensory-safe cuts incorporate a soothing environment with softer lighting or quieter spaces, and flexible pacing with breaks. If the sound or feel of hair clippers causes distress, Nelson will use scissors. For those who find sitting in the chair overwhelming, Nelson makes accommodations. 'As a sensory-safe barber, I've learned how to work with kids in the spectrum,' Nelson said. 'My goal is to create trust, not trauma.'
In addition to haircuts, Nelson offers services including quick line-ups, beard shape-ups, hot lather partial or full-face shaves, and simple cornrows. SevensCutAbove is currently accepting new clients by appointment only. To schedule, clients can use Nelson's booking site. To celebrate the grand opening, Nelson is offering new clients a five-dollar discount on the third haircut and a 10-dollar discount on the sixth cut.
