Sprott Inc. (NYSE: SII) ended 2025 with record assets under management, driven by strong performance across its precious metals, critical materials, and mining company ETFs. In an interview with Benzinga, Steven Schoffstall, Director of ETF Product Management, attributed the surge to heightened investor interest amid geopolitical and economic instability. “A lot of times it's that geopolitical uncertainty, economic uncertainty,” Schoffstall said. “We’re seeing trade wars and threats of tariffs. All of that bodes well for precious metals traditionally.”
Looking ahead to 2026, Schoffstall highlighted silver as a standout metal, noting its unique characteristics as both a precious and industrial metal. Approximately 60% of silver is used in industrial applications, including artificial intelligence and semiconductors. “A lot of what we saw in 2025 is likely to carry through into 2026,” he stated, suggesting that the factors driving precious metals higher remain intact.
The outlook aligns with ongoing global uncertainties, including trade tensions and tariff threats, which historically support precious metals as safe-haven assets. Sprott’s ETFs have benefited from this trend, attracting new investors seeking exposure to metals and mining companies.
