SS Innovations International (NASDAQ: SSII), a developer of surgical robotic technologies, announced the appointment of Sarah M. Romano as chief financial officer, effective Aug. 3, 2026. Based in the United States, Romano brings more than two decades of finance leadership experience in the medical technology and life sciences sectors. She will help lead the company’s financial operations as it advances its global expansion strategy, including pursuit of U.S. FDA approval for its SSi Mantra surgical robotic system.

Most recently, Romano served as chief financial officer of Vicarious Surgical, where she led financial and operational initiatives to reduce cash burn, strengthen the balance sheet and support strategic objectives. She previously held CFO roles at Entero Therapeutics and Kiora Pharmaceuticals, raising more than $100 million through public and private financings while overseeing strategic transactions, SEC reporting and investor relations.

The appointment comes as SS Innovations seeks to make robotic surgery more affordable and accessible worldwide. The company’s product range includes its proprietary SSi Mantra surgical robotic system and its comprehensive suite of SSi Mudra surgical instruments, which support a variety of procedures including cardiac surgery.
