(NASDAQ: SSII) announced that its subsidiary, the SS International Centre for Robotics Surgery (SSICRS), has graduated the inaugural class of its Cardiac Robotic Surgery Training program. The five-day course brought together 33 participants from seven countries and 16 international faculty members for classroom instruction, live surgical demonstrations and hands-on training using the company's SSi Mantra surgical robotic system.
This milestone is significant as it marks a step toward broader adoption of robotic-assisted surgery, which can improve patient outcomes and reduce recovery times. The training program aimed to equip surgeons with the skills needed to perform minimally invasive cardiac procedures using robotic technology. SS Innovations' SSi Mantra system is designed to be more affordable and accessible than existing robotic surgical systems, potentially expanding access to advanced surgical care in underserved regions.
SS Innovations said SSICRS plans to expand its educational offerings through additional condensed training programs covering multiple surgical specialties, including urology, gynecology, thoracic, colorectal, gastrointestinal and general surgery. The company said the training center combines modern lecture facilities, advanced simulation labs, tele-proctoring and online learning modules to support surgeon education and the broader adoption of robotic-assisted surgery.
The expansion of training programs could accelerate the adoption of robotic surgery globally, particularly in countries where such technology has been limited due to cost and training barriers.
