Task Force Identifies Key Ways AI Is Reshaping Work and the Economy

The Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP), a nonprofit and nonpartisan initiative focused on strengthening America's long-term competitiveness in artificial intelligence, has released preliminary findings from its Task Force on AI and the Future of Work. Unveiled at the SCSP's annual AI+Expo, the report identifies ten aspects of AI's current and potential impact on work and the economy, emphasizing the need for proactive measures to ensure broad benefits.

According to the Task Force, a joint effort between SCSP and Nvidia, AI is distinct from most prior general-purpose technologies because it extends into cognitive work, impacting foundational skills. The transition is unpredictable, with AI expected to simultaneously expand human work and eliminate or transform jobs.
