TES (SZSE: 003019.SZ), a leading provider of touch display solutions, has officially inaugurated and put into operation Phase I of its manufacturing base in Rayong Province, Thailand, following a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Chairman Kevin Lee, local government officials, and supply chain partners. The initial investment of US$24 million marks a significant expansion of TES's manufacturing footprint in Southeast Asia and signals a new stage in its global strategic layout.
The commissioning of the Rayong plant represents the full implementation of TES's global 'Dual-Core Smart Manufacturing' strategy, according to Chairman Kevin Lee. He stated that the plant's cutting-edge technology applications—including interactive smart displays, interactive all-in-one PCs, and smart automotive displays—are expected to generate tens of millions of US dollars in production value for the local economy. Lee emphasized that with dual manufacturing bases in China and Thailand, TES will leverage higher supply chain resilience and more flexible delivery capabilities to help global customers mitigate trade risks, capture market opportunities, and achieve long-term, mutually beneficial prosperity.
The Rayong plant, located within the WHA Industrial Estate, covers a total land area of 42,399 m² with a total building area of 26,630 m², and reserves space for future expansion. It is TES's largest single manufacturing base in Southeast Asia to date. The company will systematically execute the full migration and integration of its Chonburi and Rayong operations in phases. Phase I facilities include production plant, administrative offices, and employee living support facilities, with a current workforce of approximately 300 employees and production capacity ramping up rapidly. Future plans include expanding production lines based on global market demand to broaden product categories and delivery capabilities.
The plant's monthly planned capacity includes 65,000 units of 7–55" touch monitors and all-in-one PCs, 300,000 units of SMT-related products, 120,000 sets of automotive touch display modules, 120,000 units of automotive optical bonding products, and 30,000 units from automotive assembly lines. Moving forward, TES plans to add one additional assembly line and two bonding lines to meet stable delivery requirements for medium-to-large batch OEM and ODM orders.
The strategic location of the Rayong plant offers multiple advantages for global OEM/ODM partners. Situated in Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor, it is about 1.5 hours (113 km) from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport and 1 hour (70 km) from Laem Chabang Deep Sea Port, enhancing international trade and logistics efficiency. The plant has received Investment Promotion Privileges (BOI) certification from the Thai government, ensuring operational stability and policy support. By offering flexible options for country of origin, TES assists clients in adapting to changing global trade environments, optimizing tariff structures, and mitigating single-region trade risks. Through cross-regional multi-base synergy, TES establishes a capacity redundancy framework to buffer against regional supply chain fluctuations and guarantee order delivery stability.
The Rayong plant has fully implemented TES's globally unified quality management system, enforcing standardized control across every process from supplier management to final outgoing inspection to ensure consistent high-quality standards. The official operation of the plant represents a key milestone in TES's globalization journey. Looking ahead, TES will continue to cultivate the Southeast Asian industrial ecosystem and optimize its global manufacturing layout. For more information, please visit https://www.tes-tec.com/.
