TruGolf Acquires Polymath Research, Enters Institutional Asset Tokenization

TruGolf Holdings (NASDAQ: TRUG) announced the completion of its acquisition of Polymath Research Inc., a Canadian company specializing in institutional asset tokenization and developer of Polymesh, a Layer-1 blockchain designed for regulated assets. The transaction, reported via NEWMEDIAWIRE, combines TruGolf's established golf simulation and software business with Polymath's blockchain infrastructure, creating two complementary revenue streams.

As of Dec. 31, 2025, Polymath had issued more than $132 million in tokenized assets for more than 65 active issuers, supported by more than 50 ecosystem partners. The companies are also developing tokenized equipment leasing and fractional franchise ownership programs targeted for the first quarter of 2027. Following the acquisition, Polymath will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary while TruGolf continues its golf technology operations, including its simulators and E6 platform.

Natalie Hirsch, formerly Polymath's chief financial officer and interim CEO, has been appointed chief financial officer and chief operating officer of TruGolf, while David Hackett has joined its board of directors. In connection with the transaction, TruGolf also received approximately $2.95 million in net proceeds from the exercise of Series B preferred warrants.

The acquisition marks a significant strategic pivot for TruGolf, a company known for its golf technology since 1983. By integrating Polymath's regulated blockchain platform, TruGolf gains immediate exposure to the institutional asset tokenization market, which is increasingly seen as a bridge between traditional finance and digital assets. Polymath's Polymesh blockchain is specifically engineered for regulated assets, addressing compliance and security concerns that have historically hindered institutional adoption of tokenized securities. This positions TruGolf to capitalize on a growing trend of real-world asset tokenization, potentially unlocking new capital and liquidity avenues.

Moreover, the development of tokenized equipment leasing and fractional franchise ownership programs signals a broader vision to apply blockchain technology to TruGolf's core golf business. These initiatives could democratize access to golf-related investments, allowing fractional ownership of equipment and franchises, which may appeal to a wider investor base and create recurring revenue opportunities. The addition of Hirsch and Hackett brings expertise in both finance and blockchain, which will be critical as TruGolf navigates this new territory.

The $2.95 million in net proceeds from warrant exercises provides additional capital to support these ventures, strengthening TruGolf's balance sheet amid the integration. For investors, the move diversifies TruGolf's revenue beyond the cyclical golf industry and taps into the high-growth blockchain sector. For the broader market, it exemplifies how traditional companies can leverage blockchain to innovate and expand, potentially inspiring similar cross-industry mergers.
