Tú Cuentas Cine Youth Fest (TCCYF), the youth-focused film initiative created by HITN, has earned two Telly Awards for its interview series Tú Cuentas Cafecito. The segments featuring media executive Ingrid 'Superstar' Salcedo and actress and producer Roselyn Sánchez won in the General–Interview & Talk Show category, with the Salcedo episode receiving a Silver Telly and the Sánchez episode a Bronze Telly.
The recognition underscores the growing visibility of Hispanic-centered storytelling in digital and television media, particularly programs that blend cultural conversation with personal narrative. For the past five years, HITN's goal with Tú Cuentas has been to create a platform where young filmmakers and storytellers can showcase their voices and their work, according to Cynthia Rivera, co-director of the series.
Ingrid 'Superstar' Salcedo is an Emmy Award-winning broadcast executive and producer known for helping shape some of television's most prominent Latin music award shows. Roselyn Sánchez, a Puerto Rican actress and filmmaker, has recently expanded into directing with her film Diario, Mujer y Café, a personal project rooted in Puerto Rican storytelling. Her acting credits include the television series Without a Trace and Devious Maids.
Host Raymond Arturo Pérez, a Los Angeles-based television writer and creative originally from San Antonio, Texas, brings warmth and authenticity to every Cafecito conversation, Rivera said. Pérez previously served as a staff writer on season two of Selena: The Series and has built a career focused on elevating Latino, queer and other underrepresented voices.
The Telly Awards, established in 1979, receive over 13,000 entries from all 50 states and 5 continents. Entrants are judged by The Telly Awards Judging Council, an industry body of over 250 leading experts including advertising agencies, production companies, and major television networks.
