NEW YORK, NY - June 15, 2026 - tZERO Group, Inc., a pioneer in blockchain-based financial infrastructure, today provided an update on its intellectual property enforcement actions and highlighted additional patent families supporting the evolution of tokenized capital markets. The company sent a cease and desist letter to Securitize, Inc., alleging that Securitize's DS protocol and Vault Registrar infringe two tZERO patents: U.S. Patent No. 11,216,802 titled "Self-enforcing Security Token Implementing Smart-contract-based Compliance Rules Consulting Smart-contract-based Global Registry of Investors" and U.S. Patent No. 11,394,560 titled "Crypto integration platform."
This move follows tZERO's April 30, 2026 update on its portfolio review, which disclosed 10 patents across 5 families. tZERO's broader portfolio comprises 23 patent families and 105 patents worldwide, focusing on compliant, scalable, and interoperable tokenized capital markets infrastructure. The company is investigating additional infringement by at least six other market participants in sectors including Regulated RWA & Digital Asset Securities Platforms, Institutional Infrastructure, and Decentralized Exchanges.
tZERO also highlighted new patent families covering core technologies: Crypto Multiple Security Asset Creation and Redemption Platform (U.S. Patent No. 11,704,733), Consolidated Order Book from Multiple Asset Exchanges (U.S. Patent No. 11,436,673), Decentralized Trading System for Fair Ordering and Matching of Trades (U.S. Patent No. 10,937,083), and Obfuscation of Intent in Transactions Using Cryptographic Techniques (U.S. Patent No. 10,552,829). These patents address tokenized fund creation and redemption, cross-venue liquidity management, decentralized trade ordering, and privacy-preserving transactions.
According to tZERO, the company and its investors have dedicated substantial resources to develop this intellectual property. As the tokenization industry scales, tZERO remains vigilant in protecting its market position and shareholders' investment. The company expects to send demand letters to other infringing parties after completing its ongoing investigation.
