United Franchise Group Acquires Full Ownership of Transworld Business Advisors, Strengthening Global Brokerage Network

United Franchise Group (UFG), a global leader in franchising, has announced its full acquisition of Transworld Business Advisors (TBA), the world's largest business brokerage organization. The move, effective immediately, grants UFG complete ownership of TBA, which operates over 200 offices and boasts more than 1,000 agents and brokers globally. This strategic consolidation aims to leverage synergies between the two entities to drive further expansion and service excellence.

Ray Titus, chairman and CEO of United Franchise Group, emphasized the significance of the acquisition. "This exciting acquisition makes both United Franchise Group and Transworld Business Advisors stronger than ever," Titus said. "The franchise has experienced tremendous growth since joining our family of brands in 2010 – becoming the world's largest business brokerage. Now, as sole owners, we're positioned to take it to the next level alongside its talented team of advisors."

As part of the transition, TBA's former CEO and partner Andy Cagnetta will focus on leading his Fort Lauderdale, Florida franchise location, which is the largest in the network. Jim "JT" Tatem will continue as TBA president, a role he has held since 2024. This leadership structure ensures continuity while allowing key personnel to concentrate on high-impact areas.

The acquisition underscores UFG's commitment to strengthening its portfolio of brands, which includes Signarama, Fully Promoted, Black Optix Tint, and food concepts under Big Flavor Brands such as The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill and Graze Craze. With over 1,800 franchises across more than 80 countries, UFG brings extensive experience in franchise development and support. The company's expertise will be directed toward enhancing TBA's services for entrepreneurs looking to sell, buy, or franchise their businesses.

"This is a positive step forward for the future of TBA and the critical role it plays in helping entrepreneurs sell, buy, and franchise their businesses," added Titus. "Our corporate team continues their commitment to help our franchise owners and their clients get more deals done. And we see a significant opportunity to attract new franchisees and accelerate our expansion nationwide and globally."
