VERAXA Biotech (NASDAQ: VRXA) on Friday announced new in vitro proof-of-concept data supporting its novel BiTAC-ADC technology platform, designed to improve precision in cancer treatment through tumor-restricted activation of therapeutic agents. The company reported that BiTAC-ADCs demonstrated the ability to distinguish between breast cancer and healthy cells and achieved dose-dependent killing of 3D tumor cell spheroids while minimizing toxicity through the use of separately delivered, systemically inactive precursor components.
According to VERAXA, the findings further validate the potential of its BiTAC-ADC platform and complement its BiTAC-TCE technology, providing the company with two differentiated cancer therapy platforms that may be applicable across multiple solid tumor indications. Management plans to discuss partnering opportunities for both platforms at the BIO International Convention in San Diego from June 22-25, 2026.
“These results underscore the versatility and precision of our BiTAC-ADC technology,” said a company spokesperson. The platform’s ability to achieve tumor-restricted activation could address key limitations of traditional antibody-drug conjugates, which often cause off-target toxicity. By using two separate, systemically inactive components that only become active in the tumor microenvironment, BiTAC-ADCs may offer a safer therapeutic window.
The data come as VERAXA advances its pipeline of next-generation antibody-based therapeutics, which includes bispecific T cell engagers and bispecific ADCs. The company was founded on scientific breakthroughs made at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), a world-renowned institution known for pioneering life science research.
