NEW YORK, NY — Verizon (NYSE, Nasdaq: VZ) today announced a sweeping transformation aimed at putting customers first by eliminating activation and upgrade fees, launching simplified plans, and introducing a new loyalty program. The company is replacing industry-standard practices that often burden customers with complex plans and hidden fees, instead offering straightforward options and rewards.
Verizon is eliminating activation and upgrade fees for all postpaid customers who opt into the new Verizon Loyalty program. This industry-first move removes charges of up to $40 per device. Customers can opt in through the My Verizon app in one simple step. Additionally, Verizon is introducing Verizon Dollars, a rewards program that gives customers 3% back each month on their bill, redeemable for devices, accessories, or up to 5x value from brands like Sephora, Hilton, and Starbucks. The company is also launching Verizon Shine, a weekly sweepstakes offering once-in-a-lifetime experiences such as tickets to the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final, VIP access to concerts, and more.
Verizon is also introducing two new plans: Verizon Simplicity and Verizon One. Verizon Simplicity, priced at $45 per line ($30 for new customers switching to Verizon), offers access to the company's best 5G network with no tiers, including 5G Ultra Wideband. The plan includes unlimited data, 10GB of premium mobile hotspot, roaming in Canada and Mexico, and satellite texting. Customers can choose to keep their own device or upgrade annually with Simplicity Plus or Simplicity Pro. Verizon One combines mobility and home internet on one bill for $70 per month, with taxes and fees included, targeting new customers.
Verizon CEO Dan Schulman emphasized the company's commitment to simplicity and customer satisfaction. 'We’re fundamentally reshaping Verizon inside and out to put the customer at the center of everything we do,' he said. 'For too long, this industry has burdened people with complex plans, forced upgrades they don’t need, and so-called “rewards” with tons of caveats.'
The new offerings build on the success of Verizon's myPlan and are part of a multi-year transformation. Today's announcement is expected to be accretive to revenue and EBITDA growth, with no change to the company's 2026 financial guidance. Customers can learn more about the loyalty program at verizon.com/loyalty and access plans through the My Verizon app.
