VinFast and GSM have announced significant leadership changes, with Mr. Pham Nhat Quan Anh assuming the role of CEO of VinFast Global, succeeding Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, and Mr. Pham Nhat Minh Hoang becoming CEO of GSM Global, succeeding Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tuan, who becomes Chairman of GSM Global. These appointments mark a strategic shift as Vingroup accelerates leadership transitions to a younger generation to support the companies' rapid international expansion.
The leadership overhaul comes at a critical juncture for both companies. VinFast, Vietnam's leading electric vehicle manufacturer, currently operates in 16 countries, including key markets such as Vietnam, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Its electric cars and motorcycles are produced in four facilities across Vietnam, Indonesia, and India. GSM, which operates the Green SM electric taxi brand, serves seven countries and plans to enter at least three more markets this year, with ambitions to list on an international stock exchange.
Mr. Pham Nhat Quan Anh, born in 1993, brings a strong educational background from Singapore Management University and extensive cross-sector management experience within the Vingroup ecosystem. Having served as Chairman of VinFast Global since May 2026, he now holds ultimate responsibility for all VinFast operations. His concurrent role as CEO of VinMetal Trading and Production JSC further underscores his strategic importance. In his statement, Mr. Quan Anh expressed gratitude for the board's trust and emphasized VinFast's readiness to seize opportunities in sustainable mobility.
Mr. Pham Nhat Minh Hoang, born in 2000, represents the next generation of leadership. He has held senior positions at VinFast, Green Future, VinSmart Future, and GSM, and is a major shareholder in several Vingroup companies, including VinSpeed, VinEnergo, VinMetal, VinVentures, and robotics firms. His appointment signals a bold move to infuse fresh perspectives into GSM's global strategy.
The transition reflects Vingroup's commitment to nurturing in-house talent and adapting to the demands of scale. As VinFast and GSM enter a period of "strong and decisive growth," these leadership changes are expected to enhance operational agility and drive further international market penetration. The companies' expansion plans, particularly GSM's target of listing on an international exchange and VinFast's continued global footprint, highlight the high stakes involved.
