VOCIC has introduced the U32 Ultra Lightweight Manual Wheelchair, a foldable, self-propelled wheelchair designed to ease daily mobility for seniors, caregivers, and families. The U32 features a 23 lb aluminum frame and a total weight of 35 lb including wheels and leg rests, aiming to reduce the physical strain often associated with traditional manual wheelchairs.
For many families, a wheelchair becomes part of daily life, used for moving between rooms, transferring from bed to chair, loading into a car trunk, and navigating narrow hallways. The U32 addresses these needs with a lightweight foldable frame, quick-release rear wheels, adjustable caregiver handles, flip-up armrests, swing-in/out footrests, and a safety-focused braking system.

Its lightweight frame and compact folding size (12.6” x 26.8”) make storage and transport easier, while quick-release rear wheels allow for even tighter storage.
Transfers are a critical aspect of wheelchair use. The U32 includes flip-up armrests and swing-in/out footrests to create a clearer transfer path, reducing obstruction between the user and the destination surface. Height-adjustable armrests and adjustable footplates help users match the chair to their body position, and a breathable cushion supports comfort during use.
Caregiver handling is another focus. The rear push handles offer four levels of height adjustment (37” to 40.5”/40.6”), allowing caregivers of different heights to push more comfortably. A rear stepper tube assists in tilting the wheelchair over small curbs or obstacles. The U32 also supports both user and caregiver control with user-operated hand brakes and caregiver-operated handle brakes.
Safety features include rear reflectors for visibility, a safety belt, an anti-tip device, and a reinforced Double-X Base frame for stability. These features support safer everyday use when properly adjusted and operated according to the user manual.
The U32 is designed for home, appointments, and everyday outings. Its narrow frame (overall width below 25.6 inches) helps navigate standard doorways and corridors. It is suitable for moving between rooms, clinic visits, family outings, car transfers, and assisted or self-propelled movement on appropriate surfaces.
