Western Star Resources Identifies New Tungsten Targets from UAV Magnetic Survey at White Star Project

Western Star Resources' high-resolution UAV magnetic survey at the White Star Tungsten Project in Nevada has revealed a previously unmapped intrusive granite body and multiple magnetic lineaments, significantly expanding the potential for tungsten skarn mineralization and guiding follow-up exploration.

Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) has reported results from a high-resolution UAV magnetic geophysical survey at its White Star Tungsten Project in Elko County, Nevada. This marks the first modern geophysical dataset acquired over the property, which previously relied on 1967 data with one-mile line spacing and a 1964 geological map. The survey was designed to refine structural controls on mineralization and identify new targets, and has already yielded several promising findings.

Processed products, including Total Magnetic Intensity (TMI), First Vertical Derivative (1VD), Second Vertical Derivative (2VD), and Analytical Signal (AS), have been interpreted. The historical Batholith mine and adit lie along a northwest-southeast-trending magnetic lineament within a subtle magnetic low. Comparable geophysical features have been identified elsewhere on the property, suggesting similar mineralization potential.

A broad magnetic high in the western portion is interpreted as a previously unmapped extension of the intrusive quartz monzonite granite, believed to be associated with tungsten-bearing skarn mineralization. This body is adjacent to mapped carbonate units, defining a new area prospective for contact skarn-hosted tungsten. Multiple magnetic lineaments, interpreted as fault and fracture zones, may have acted as pathways for hydrothermal fluids.

Blake Morgan, CEO and President of Western Star, stated, "The interpreted intrusive body identified in the high-resolution magnetic data has generated a significant new area of interest, where the contact between the granite and surrounding carbonate rocks may provide a favourable setting for tungsten skarn mineralisation."

Four target zones have been defined for follow-up: the central Kqm–Pzt contact north of the Batholith Mine, a northern Pzt body within the northern Kqm cut by a NW-trending lineament, a southern limestone corridor with discrete magnetic features, and the historical open pit area beneath Quaternary cover. These targets will be integrated with pending rock-chip and soil geochemistry to design a follow-up exploration program and refine drill targets.

The White Star survey was flown to the same specifications as the recent Rowland UAV magnetic survey, enabling a contiguous district-scale magnetic product over the consolidated Jarbidge–Charleston tungsten footprint. This combined dataset is undergoing geophysical inversion and will support integrated targeting between the two properties.

Figures from the release illustrate the Analytical Signal preliminary interpretation over the existing geological map, showing the central intrusive complex as more extensive and internally complex, with multiple discrete magnetic bodies consistent with apophyses of the quartz monzonite intrusion.
